It would have been real nice if you would have just said what size the torx bit is you used in the video. The “look it up on ebay” didn’t help. What would have been even better is if you didn’t edit out the part where you took the screws out. I can’t even get the power supply open now. The screws are stripped. Thanks.

I’ve ghetto rigged my own cooling system onto the PSU by keeping the top cover off, and I connected one of my computer’s old 80mm fan that works 1000% better. There’s no cover, and it looks a little nerdy exposed, but working is working.

Xbox Customer service claims that its my Xbox and wants me to send my xbox in. Its just past its 1 year warranty GEE. After my original launch Xbox feel doom to the Red Ring of Death, Now only a year later, the Slim Xbox PSU is junky. Xbox CS claims if it was the PSU, then the light on the PSU would be flashing. THey state that a solid color on the PSU could mean its my xbox.

Anybody else hear anything like that before?

I ended up just taking off the case and running the PSU with the cover off to give it some breathing room. I left the stock fan which hardly pushes does anything but I left it facing the psu. Leaving the PSU cover off seems give it enough room to vent out. I’m not sure but its been working for a few hours now.

I cleaned it out, there was some dust in there, I put it back together, and it started, but after about 10 minutes, it stopped working again. Yet another victim of a different red light problem from another quality microsoft product
